New Adopt a College Record!
Spring semester's Adopt
a College set a new
distribution record: 490,970
booklets handed directly to students
at 561 schools across North America
(and Italy).
See the full list of leafleters
here,
and pictures of many of them in
action here.

As with overall
distribution, this
record resulted directly from the
combination of the amazing efforts
of our leafleters and the dedication
of our donors.
It's neither glamorous nor high
profile, but our Adopt a College
program is the only systematic
program to provide tomorrow's
leaders with detailed and documented
information about the animals' plight
and the compassionate choices they
can make every day. Because of the
teamwork of our thoughtful, dedicated
members, Vegan Outreach is able
to convert donations to action efficiently
and effectively.
With your help, we can get booklets
into the hands of a million college
students this year! Each
and every one of us can play a part.
Make the choice to take action for
the animals today!
More than Halfway!
UPDATE: The goal has
been reached!
Through the generosity
of dozens of donors, Vegan Outreach
has raised $20,041 towards July's
$30,000 matching
donation challenge.
Just
as every compassionate choice makes
a difference, every donation also
has an impact -- your contribution
allows more people to learn the
truth about modern agribusiness.
If you haven't yet had your tax-deductible
contribution doubled, please make
a secure donation on-line via
this page, or send
a check or money order to:

Notes from Our
Members
I
thought vegans were crazy,
even after I met one personally.
But when I got a pamphlet from your
volunteer, I was surprised how reasonable
and intelligent it is! I've kept
up a vegetarian diet for most of
this week, and yesterday, after
20 years of drinking milk, I bought
soymilk for the first time. Thank
you for showing me the smart move!

Jessica Dadds discusses a booklet
at the Mississippi Avenue Street
Fair in Portland, OR.
I wanted to tell you
how incredibly well planned, well
written, and appealing your booklets
are. They are the most effective
materials I've seen anywhere. Your
whole philosophy of non-alienation
and pursuing best efforts over "perfection"
is brilliant yet so simple, so obvious.
Don't preach, but give people information
about abuse; then, follow it up
with specific steps and guidance
for making compassionate changes
in their lives. Present the problem
AND give useful, easy-to-implement
solutions. Wow!
Best
of all, these pamphlets are so comprehensive
that they can be left in places
where people will just pick them
up. They tell the whole story and
give a variety of resources that
people can look at once their interest
is piqued. I firmly believe that
most people don't want to consider
the issues of animal suffering in
the presence of vegans -- they're
too embarrassed and/or defensive.
But provide information they can
read and digest in private -- indeed,
pick up off a table anonymously
-- and many will want to pursue
more information.
I
will be putting the booklets in
many places locally where people
are likely to pick them up, and
I'll be ordering more when these
are gone. Thank you so much for
providing such fabulous materials
at so little a cost.

It
was an exhausting
but very productive weekend tour
of Warped in Texas. The crowds were
huge, and the acceptance rate was
very high. Casey [Constable], Eugene
[Khutoryansky], and I were joined
by other volunteers at some stops,
and were able to hand out a total
24,600 booklets at the Dallas, San
Antonio, and Houston venues. We
heard "I am already vegetarian/vegan"
countless times -- very encouraging.

For my whole life I
was a meat eater. When people ask
me in shock, "YOU'RE a vegetarian?"
(as they have been for a year now),
I tell them the story of how a pamphlet
changed my life. After that day,
no more dead animal carcasses. Those
pamphlets do the job, they really
portray a clear picture of what
REALLY goes on. I was so happy to
see that 2,161,975
booklets were distributed!

I
recently read your
Vegan Outreach brochure and realized
I can help animals by going vegan!
I've been a vegan now for about
four months, and I feel so great
-- physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Even better is knowing that through
my veganism, I am helping those
animalsI love so much! Thank you
Vegan Outreach for all the amazing
and compassionate work you do. I
am now a vegan for life, and am
very excited about continuing to
make more positive changes in the
lives of our precious animal friends,
being the voice they rightfully
deserve!

At the Warped stop
in Atlanta, JC [Corcoran],
Wendy [Moore] and I experienced
countless positive interactions,
very little antagonism, and significantly
fewer discarded booklets than last
year. We all had interesting conversations
-- vegetarians who are considering
going vegan, people thinking of
getting active as volunteers, people
who sincerely wanted to know more
about the issues and what motivates
us to leaflet, etc.
